Ronald Sluijter studied history at Leiden University, gaining his doctorate in 2004 with a dissertation on the organisation and finances of Leiden University between 1575 and 1812. At Huygens ING, he has been working since 2000 on various projects: a database with source material from the Batavian-French government in the period 1795–1813, the “Repertory of Civil Servants and Officials” (a database with information about the members and senior officials of the most important Dutch representative, administrative and judicial institutions) and a database of Roman-Catholic confraternities in the Netherlands in the 19th century.
