Caroline van Vliet studied at the Library and Documentation Academy and subsequently joined the National Library, working on the “Dutch Bibliography 1801–1832” project and at the Africa Study Centre in Leiden. Since 1991 she has been employed by the Royal Netherlands Historical Society (KNHG). As a society member of staff at the KNHG, she is responsible for membership administration, financial administration, and the planning and minuting of board meetings and other meetings. She is also involved in organising the KNHG’s spring and autumn conferences , maintaining the Society’s website (, and producing the monthly electronic newsletter. She also carries out support work for the website.
