The Huygens Institute for History of the Netherlands is an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. The Huygens ING investigates texts and sources from the past using new methods and techniques. The institute stands for innovation in research methods, but also for a better understanding of Dutch culture and history among a wide audience. The institute has around 100 employees and a turnover of around € 6.5 million. Software development is an important part of many projects. It is located in the Spinhuis on Oudezijds Achterburgwal 185 in the center of Amsterdam.

Vacancies at the Huygens ING

We are looking for a Research Data Manager (1/2 FTE) for the Digital Data Management department.

You work with a wide variety of digital historical and linguistic datasets and know how to harmonize and interconnect them in a correct way. This also involves integrating and describing new and existing collections and datasets (data curation). As a research data manager, you always keep in consideration the wishes of researchers, and you can translate complex research questions into concrete data mappings and models. In projects, you act as a connector between researchers, software developers, and external partners. Communication about the collections and data is also part of the work.
